More than the river
The float is the headline, but the evenings are what people remember. Here's what's waiting for you back at camp.
The General Store
Tucked inside our office, the general store keeps camping and floating supplies, snacks, cold drinks, and bagged ice on hand. Forgot the sunscreen or ran out of marshmallows? Nobody has to drive back into town.
The In-Ground Pool
Our in-ground pool is open to lodging guests from 6:00pm to 11:00pm — the perfect place to rinse the river off, cool down, and let the kids burn off whatever energy the float didn't.
Sand Volleyball Courts
Two things happen every evening at War Eagle: somebody starts a campfire, and somebody starts a volleyball game. Our sand courts are free to use, no reservation needed — just bring a ball or ask at the office.
Weekend Food Trucks
On weekends a rotating lineup of food trucks sets up on the property, so dinner is a short walk instead of a drive. The current schedule is posted on War Eagle Resort's social media accounts — give us a follow before your trip to see who's coming.
Be off the river by 6:00pm
All floaters are advised to return to the designated War Eagle pull-out along the riverbank at the War Eagle campground no later than 6:00pm. That's when our crew wraps up river operations for the day.
Late arrivals — and anyone who pulls out somewhere other than the War Eagle take-out — are subject to a late fee for staff to locate and retrieve the floaters and the equipment. It's an easy fee to avoid: watch the clock, and if you're getting a late start, take the short float instead of the long one.
